I’m new to Linux and I’ve switched from Windows, but I’m really struggling to get a crosshair overlay to work. I’ve tried using Decky plugins and messing around with MangoHud configs, but nothing seems to work right. There’s a JSON plugin, but I can’t figure out how to change the crosshair, which currently looks like a giant square made of dashes. Some videos mentioned different methods for downloading MangoHud, and they don’t seem to match up. I also tried Gorelay and managed to get a red dot and CPU percentage on the screen, but I can’t make the percentage transparent. It’s frustrating because I just want a simple dot in the center of my screen. Can anyone help?

Crosshair overlays aren’t just for ‘weaklings’! They can help with aiming, especially when you’re getting used to a new setup. Anyway, if you’re looking to customize your HUD, I have a tutorial that can give you some tips! Check out this video on MangoHud customization. It might not be specifically about crosshairs, but you could find a few pointers to help you out: [Completely Customize Your MangoHud With This Powerful GUI (feat. Steam Deck)](https://youtu.be/tTwhGfFKJFw).
Hey! When you mention Decky, did you actually install the Decky loader properly, or did you download a random file that left you stuck? Just checking if you have the basics covered before diving deeper!
I installed Decky and downloaded the crosshair from JSON darullo. It works, but the design is unusable. The crosshair looks like this:

I feel your pain! Getting the right crosshair is harder than it should be. Have you checked if the MangoHud config file lets you tweak the settings directly? Sometimes directly editing the config can do the trick! And yeah, if you find a good setup, share your presets with the community!
