Hey gamers! Due to some health issues, I can only play using my mouse, which led me to pick up a Razer Naga to give World of Warcraft another shot. I haven’t played since the early days of BFA, but I used to be pretty hardcore. I’m rolling an Elemental Shaman because I remember their rotation being simple. I’ve heard they’re not that great right now, but I like the concept. I did consider Fury Warrior or Hunter too, but I’m looking for input on which class might suit my situation of having to move and cast with just the mouse. I know I won’t be pushing high mythic dungeons, but I’m aiming for a fun time with a simpler rotation and minimal repositioning needs. Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch!

BM Hunter is great for mouse-only gameplay. It has a simple rotation, is ranged so repositioning isn’t a hassle, and the pet can handle some damage while you’re just focusing on you. If you want to go melee, Fury Warrior could work, but I’d stick with ranged for the simplicity!
Shaman has utility but can be a bit complex because of all the buttons. Think about a class that doesn’t require as much repositioning! I’ve found that the Evoker classes have the lowest actions per minute which could be a perfect fit considering your situation!
That’s a good point, I’ll explore that option for sure!
Check out Gnome Sequencer (GSE). It lets you bind your rotation to one button which can really simplify things! Also, enabling Click to Move will allow you to right-click to move your character. This makes it easier to move around while managing abilities. Don’t forget about Action Targeting or Sticky Targeting to keep your target locked in while moving! These tips will help make playing with just a mouse sooo much easier!
Thank you for the suggestions. Much much appreciated!
Welcome back! With your Razer Naga, you should have plenty of buttons for your rotation! I recommend using your mouse wheel for abilities because you generally don’t need it for zooming. Foot pedals can also be a game changer for movement! As for classes, while shamans can be button-heavy, you might find the Devastation Evoker easier with fewer buttons. It has great movement abilities too!
Thanks for the thorough response. I really appreciate it!
Using macros can also help. For instance, you can combine spells into a single button based on what you’re targeting, minimizing button clutter. If you set up conditionals, it lets you cast different spells depending on if you’re targeting a friend or foe. This is super useful for making play smoother, especially with classes that have a lot of similar spells!
I appreciate the tip! I’ve played a lot before, so I’m trying to find classes with simpler rotations to make it easier.
Thanks for the suggestion! I was considering a BM Hunter but I’m not a huge fan of pet play.
