I’ve been encountering a frustrating issue with my PC shutting down every time I try to game. After around 10-20 minutes of gameplay, the system turns off completely. I’ve already reinstalled Windows, checked all my hardware components, and even removed my oldest hard drive. After a few shutdowns, I got a blue screen, which is part of why I reinstalled Windows in the first place. From what I’ve researched, it could either be a Windows issue or a faulty component. My RAM seems fine, and both my GPU and CPU temperatures are stable during those brief gameplay sessions. My hard drives appear to be working well, so I’m starting to suspect the power supply, especially since it’s an EVGA 650W unit that I’ve had for about three years. Is it common for power supplies to fail this early? Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?

It sounds like the power supply could be the culprit. A quick test you can do is limit your CPU and GPU power draw to see if that helps. You can adjust the CPU power settings in Windows Power Management and use MSI Afterburner to tweak your GPU power limits. It might help you pinpoint whether the PSU is struggling under load! Good luck!
I’ve had a similar issue before! It turned out to be my PSU acting up. You might want to try swapping it out if possible. It’s common for power supplies to start degrading after a couple of years, especially if they are pushed hard. Consider reviewing any recent hardware upgrades as well, since they can increase power demand unexpectedly!
Have you checked for overheating? Dust buildup can cause problems, even if you clean your system regularly. Make sure you’ve cleaned vents, fans, and heatsinks. Last I checked, my GPU and CPU temps were around 55-60°C under load, which seems okay, but just double-check the airflow in your case too.
Will do. Thanks!
