I’ve been having a major issue with my PC overheating since I got it as a hand-me-down. It boots up fine, but my Intel i9 CPU heats up rapidly—within about 5 minutes—making it impossible to play games. I’ve already applied new thermal paste thinking that would solve the problem and confirmed that everything is seated properly, but the overheating persists. Any tips on what I can do?

You might want to check if there’s any plastic film between your heatsink and processor. If you find one, get rid of it, clean the area, and reapply some thermal paste.
If your CPU is overheating that quickly, it sounds like your cooling isn’t working properly. Are you using an AIO cooler or an air cooler? You should double-check the mounting and contact between the cooler and CPU, plus ensure that the fan or pump is operating correctly.
