I updated my deck today (April 1st) and things went sideways. The update didn’t complete correctly, but when it prompted me to reboot, I made the mistake of doing so. Now, every time I turn it on, it tries to install the package, says ‘Update complete, launching Steam…’ and then just reboots again. I’ve tried rolling back to the previous version, but the same issue keeps happening. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Bummer about your deck! Sounds like it got stuck in an update loop. One thing you could try is reinstalling SteamOS directly—that might help it break out of the cycle. Just make sure you back up any important data before you do it! If it’s any consolation, you’re not alone; I’ve heard similar issues from others after this update. Good luck!
Hey there! Just a heads up, there are similar questions floating around. When in doubt, check out some guides or forums that might lead you to a fix. If your problem persists, just hang tight; someone will chime in with a solution soon!
I totally get what you’re going through, it’s frustrating! The good news is, haptic feedback, the fan, and sounds are still working, so that’s a plus, right? Hopefully, you can access the BIOS recovery options and get things sorted. If you find a solution, please share it back here for others in the same boat!
Yeah, I was hoping for an easy fix too. I’m gonna try reinstalling SteamOS but not expecting much… thanks for the tip!
