Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for a new gaming laptop and I’m torn between the MSI Vector 16HX with an RTX 4080 and the Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 9 with an RTX 4070. I’d love to get your thoughts on which one to choose! Is the build quality of the Legion really better than the Vector’s? Also, is the performance boost from the RTX 4080 significant enough to sway my decision? What features should I prioritize? Which one would you guys pick and why? Here are the specs for reference:
**MSI Vector 16 HX**
– Intel Core i9 (14th Gen)
– 32GB DDR5 RAM
– 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD
– 16″ QHD+ (2560×1600) @ 240Hz
– NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080
– SD Card Slot, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 1 & 2, Wi-Fi 7
– 99-Key SteelSeries RGB Keyboard
**Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 9**
– Intel Core i9-14900HX
– 32GB DDR5-5600MHz
– 1TB SSD M.2 PCIe Gen4
– 16″ WQXGA (2560×1600), IPS, 240Hz
– NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070

Any insights would be appreciated!

If performance is your main concern, the RTX 4080 in the MSI Vector is a clear winner. It’s significantly more powerful than the 4070, which can really make a difference in gaming and heavy tasks. However, the build quality on the Legion is often praised, so it’s worth considering if that’s important to you.
Yeah, I’ve heard good things about the Legion 7i. I’m leaning towards it just because I’m not as familiar with MSI, and I’m well aware of Lenovo’s reputation for solid builds.
