I loved playing Subnautica and I’m eager to find another game on Xbox that captures a similar vibe. Unlike many others, I don’t enjoy games with hunger and thirst mechanics, or weapon durability; they feel like unnecessary busywork to me. What I truly enjoy is exploring, discovering new things, and upgrading my character and supplies to broaden my exploration. Plus, I really appreciate a solid story – just surviving isn’t enough for my taste. Can anyone recommend games that fit this?

Have you tried Subnautica: Below Zero? It’s pretty good, but it does have the same hunger and thirst mechanics as the original. On the bright side, they’re not too difficult to manage!
Under the Waves could be another option worth checking out! It captures that exploration feel.
What about Raft? It shares a lot of features with Subnautica and lets you explore both islands and the ocean. It has an easy mode where hunger, thirst, and durability aren’t much of an issue! Just a heads-up, I’d steer clear of Stranded Deep – it’s much harder with more survival elements like poison that can lead to death.
Dredge is a really fun game! It has that exploration aspect you liked about Subnautica, and I think you’ll enjoy it a lot.
Yeah, I actually played Dredge already; it was good!
I played Below Zero, and while I liked it, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the original. Thankfully, you can disable the hunger/thirst mechanics without losing achievements.
