Hey everyone! Ages ago, I got into gaming with a computer just to play the classic Wing Commander games. They were mission-based, single-player experiences. Are there any VR games out there now that offer a similar experience? Would love some recommendations!

You should check out Star Wars: Squadrons. It’s more focused on multiplayer, but it does have a decent single-player campaign that’s worth a shot if you’re into space flight sims.
End Space could be an option. Available on both Quest and PCVR, it’s not heavy on story but offers a decent experience if you’re just looking to fly and shoot in space.
Rogue Stargun on the Quest might be what you’re looking for. It definitely reminds me of Wing Commander. Someone mentioned it to me, and I checked it out—definitely going on my wishlist!
You can get Freespace 2 Open, which has a VR Cockpit mod that lets you play in VR. It has loads of campaigns, including Freespace 1 and Blue Planet. Co-op is possible, but I’ve not had much luck finding partners.
House of the Dying Sun might be what you’re after, though it’s got mixed reviews. It’s pretty cheap when on sale, and while I haven’t tried it in VR due to motion sickness, others have enjoyed it. To test if VR flying games work for you, try out the Warplanes WW1 demo first.
