Hey everyone, I’m legally blind but still passionate about PC gaming. I’m searching for side-scroller games that feature vivid, high-contrast cartoony graphics, large and easy-to-read fonts, and minimal text so I don’t have to strain to read. Controller support is a must since it’s more comfortable for me. I haven’t tried many side-scrollers lately and would love suggestions that fit these visual and accessibility needs.

You might want to check out “Animal Well.” It’s a colorful and visually appealing side-scroller that could match what you’re looking for in terms of vibrant graphics and controller support.
Some classic picks like “Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom,” “Braid,” and “Dust: An Elysian Tail” might be worth a shot. They all have great art styles and controller support. Though I’m not sure about font sizes, they’re visually distinct and might suit your preferences.
Have you looked into “MagiCat”? It’s pretty bright with almost no text except for level names and some cute animal sounds, which could be perfect for needing minimal reading. The same developer made “Miracle Fly,” which is a bit more challenging control-wise but also bright and fun. Just make sure to configure the controls if you use a controller.
I’ve heard good things about “Pikuniku.” It’s pretty bright and cartoony, though it does have some text to read. If you’re okay with limited text, it might work. Also, since you mentioned playing on a monitor instead of a big TV, the text might be easier to handle on that setup.
