Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for urban shooter games that give off vibes similar to Max Payne, Sleeping Dogs, or GTA. I’m really interested in games where you play as a shooter in a city environment, without any superpowers—just some good ol’ bullet time. It would be awesome if there are COD-like experiences fully set in urban locations. I’m not sure what else is out there aside from the games I listed, but I’d love to hear your suggestions! Thanks!

Spec Ops: The Line is an intense experience that’s urban-themed. Honestly, it had me on the edge of my seat—bring tissues, it’s emotional! If you’re up for it, check if you can find a key reseller since it’s not on Steam anymore.
You should definitely check out the Mafia series! It has a great urban setting. True Crime: New York City could fit your bill too, along with some classic titles like SWAT 3 and 4. The Division series also has that city feel, and there’s even Watch Dogs!
Ready or Not and Squad have some maps that reflect urban environments, and if you like Battlefield, it has some city maps too. But my personal fave for a unique experience? Try Stranglehold, it features bullet time and is linked to John Woo’s “Hard Boiled.” Pretty sick game!
Don’t forget about Saints Row 1-3! Just steer clear of 4 since it goes full-on superpowers. If you want something gritty, give Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days a shot; it’s a wild ride through Hong Kong.
If you’re in for some retro vibes, try Kingpin: Life of Crime or Urban Chaos if you can handle the old 90s mechanics. And for something more modern, both divisions 1 and 2 are strong contenders that might hit that urban intensity you’re looking for!
True, those classic controls can be a trip! But they have their charm once you get into the groove.
Totally agree! I had a blast playing it with Singularity and Timeshift. Just remember, it gets heavy!
