I’ve mostly been playing mid with champions like Orianna, LeBlanc, and Syndra, or support with Thresh, Braum, and Renata. I want to branch out and start playing melee champions, especially Yone. Could anyone share some tips on how to get started? Also, I’m interested in what items and runes are best for Yone since I’m coming from a support role and switching to a fighter seems pretty challenging!

I relate so hard! I have trouble with auto attacks too, especially with ranged champs. Melee feels way more natural for me, so I’m happy I’m not alone in that! It’s probably just a matter of practicing your positioning and getting comfortable with those skill timings.
Honestly, get used to the idea that sometimes, you might just lose lane. That’s part of learning! Don’t stress it too much if you get outplayed. Just keep practicing and you’ll improve.
For Yone, you’ll want to build items like Berserker’s Greaves, Blade of the Ruined King, Shieldbow, Infinity Edge, and Death’s Dance. Those will help you deal with squishier enemies better. For runes, I’d recommend Precision with Press the Attack to make laning easier against those light-hitters. If you’re up against tanky champions, consider Lethal Tempo instead if there are multiple tanks like Sion or Urgot, as it can help with the sustained damage you need.
Just focus on learning how to trade well. Understand what a winning trade looks like, and don’t go all-in unless you’re pretty sure it’s a good time for it. Sometimes it’s better to whittle down the enemy than to dive in recklessly.
Just a heads up, some players might not take you seriously if you pick Yone. They can be pretty harsh about it, but just have fun and ignore the haters! You do you!
If you’re facing Sion or Urgot, just remember to be patient. Try to poke them from a distance and make use of your mobility. Those guys are tough, but with the right positioning, you can outplay them!
