I recently started playing Tyranny and was really excited about character creation and the initial choices, but I quickly lost interest when the gameplay began. I’m on the lookout for text-based RPGs that provide a way to visualize choices, maybe on a map, while still leaving a lot to the imagination. Ideally, I’m searching for games with strong narratives—nothing that centers around survival. I want something where my decisions carry weight and I can choose an evil path if I want.

Have you tried *The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante*? It’s text-heavy, and you can make some meaningful choices. You might also like RPGs like *Space Wreck* or *Age of Decadence*—they allow you to sidestep combat if you prefer a focus on story.
You might want to check out *Roadwarden*; it seems to fit exactly what you’re looking for! It’s got the right blend of text-based gameplay with some visual representation.
*Disco Elysium* could be up your alley! It’s primarily text-based but has a beautiful map and a strong narrative focus. It dabbles in RPG mechanics without being heavy on combat, which might be exactly what you’re after.
Totally agree! *Roadwarden* has a fantastic way of visual storytelling.
