I struggle with falling asleep at night, but I found some relief while playing Skyrim. It might not be the best sleep aid, but meandering through its forests and immersing myself in the peaceful music seemed to help. I’d visualize different areas of Skyrim that I planned to explore, which created a relaxing bedtime ritual. Now I’m looking for other games that provide the same calming and meditative experience. What would you recommend?

If you’re on the Switch, ‘Breath of the Wild’ might be a great option. It offers stunning visuals and a pretty peaceful exploration experience. ‘Ghosts of Tsushima’ is another beautiful choice; its world is serene, although I can’t recall the exact feel of the soundtrack, I imagine it complements the tranquil settings well. For something with a mesmerizing soundtrack, ‘Nier Automata’ would be my pick; its music alone could lull you to a restful sleep.
A unique alternative approach could be to try taking an ambien, the trick is to get comfy and resist sleep as long as possible — just make sure you avoid any spontaneous tweeting in the middle of the night!
I’d recommend checking out some of the Assassin’s Creed games. They have an exploration mode where you can roam around and soak in the environment without the pressure of combat. It’d be a nice way to engage your mind but stay relaxed before bed.
