I’m on the hunt for a story-driven game that combines puzzles, parkour, and a bit of combat, similar to games like Assassin’s Creed and Uncharted 4. I’ve played Red Dead Redemption, its sequel, God of War, and The Witcher 3 (though I wasn’t a big fan of Witcher 3 because it felt a bit clunky). I’ve been through the Assassin’s Creed series up to Unity and I’m on the fence about continuing the franchise since I’ve heard mixed opinions about the newer games. The Last of Us is sitting in my library, but I haven’t tried it yet since I just wrapped up Uncharted 4. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, and sorry if I don’t respond right away!

If you’re okay with older titles, you should definitely try the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy. It’s got parkour, puzzles, and combat just like Assassin’s Creed, plus a good story involving time manipulation. The trilogy includes:
– Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2003)
– Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (2004)
– Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (2005)
They’re all on Steam and still fun to play today!
Totally agree with you—the Sands of Time Trilogy is a classic! It’s a must-play for fans of the genre.
Dishonored and its sequel are great picks; they’ve got a rich story, cool mechanics, and the gameplay lets you adopt different approaches, including stealth. Definitely worth checking out!
The remastered classic Tomb Raider games are also a great choice—way better than the Uncharted series in my opinion!
Consider trying AC: Shadows; it might bring back that classic Assassin’s Creed feel you’re missing. Also, the Mirror’s Edge games are excellent for parkour!
I’m keen on Shadows too! Just hoping I don’t need to catch up on all the AC games post-Unity to enjoy it.
Dying Light might also hit the spot for you; it’s got that free-running parkour style along with combat elements and an engaging story!
Shadow of Mordor offers that Assassin’s Creed feel but with orcs. The story isn’t the strongest, but the parkour and combat are super fun!
I hear you, I’ll consider Shadow of Mordor since it’s another Ubisoft game. I’m weighing in on what to pick up next!
Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel Forbidden West could be right up your alley. They have an excellent story along with some action-adventure elements you might enjoy!
AC Mirage is a shorter game, so if you don’t like it, at least you didn’t invest too much time. Also, check out the modern Tomb Raider trilogy starting with the 2013 game for some epic scenes and gameplay!
Check out the new Indiana Jones game titled “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle”. It has all the elements you’re looking for, including a solid story and fun gameplay! It’s a fantastic choice!
Give Immortals Fenyx Rising a shot too! It’s fun, has a good story, and combines humor with action-adventure gameplay.
Yeah, the 2008 reboot of Prince of Persia also had some cool parkour elements and an open-world vibe!
