Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for some new game recommendations, particularly ones with a strong story. I’ve really enjoyed games like Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2, GTA V, all the Uncharted titles, The Last of Us 1 & 2, all the Spider-Man games, and Detroit: Become Human. What are the best story-based games out there right now?

You should look into Cyberpunk 2077, especially with the Phantom Liberty expansion—it’s a great narrative experience. Also, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has a fantastic story, plus the new Assassin’s Creed game is really good. If you’re open to some horror, Silent Hill 2 remake and Dead Space are worth checking out. If you enjoyed the interactive style of Detroit, Until Dawn or The Quarry might be right up your alley!
Totally agree about Until Dawn! It really sets up a suspenseful narrative.
You definitely want to check out God of War (2018) and its sequel, God of War: Ragnarok. They’re both incredibly story-rich and engaging! Also, don’t miss out on the Assassin’s Creed series if you haven’t played it yet—especially AC Valhalla. Ghost of Tsushima is another must-play for its epic story and beautiful visuals. If you’re into something more unique, give Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West a try. They’re fantastic games!
I second the God of War recommendation! It’s one of the best experiences I’ve had in gaming.
And if you want to explore a different genre, try out some Souls-like games. They can be pretty story-driven too!
For anyone looking for something a bit off the beaten path, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is getting a lot of good buzz right now. Baldur’s Gate 3 is also a fantastic story-focused game if you haven’t tried it yet. And honestly, you can’t go wrong with The Witcher 3—just an all-time classic!
Witcher 3 is legendary—definitely the best open-world narrative game out there.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is an absolute gem! Tons of decisions that affect the story.
Forgot to mention, Avowed looks promising too! Can’t wait to see how that plays out.
