I’m really into story-driven games, especially ones with engaging worlds to explore like Ghost of Tsushima and High On Life. I also enjoy indie games with fun vibes similar to Kindergarten and House. Besides open-world games, I like narrative experiences like Detroit: Become Human and horror games such as Outlast and The Dark Pictures Anthology. I have a PS4 and access to PS Plus Extra, and although I own some Assassin’s Creed titles, I’m not really in the mood to dive into those right now. If it helps, I can list more games I’ve played. Any recommendations for story-focused or indie games that I might enjoy?

You might also like Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War if you’re into action with a cool story element. The Tomb Raider reboot trilogy is another good pick for exploration and story. And of course, God of War (and Ragnarok if you get a chance) plus the Spider-Man games—they’re all story-rich and engaging.
Just tossing it out there—Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an amazing RPG with a strong story and tons of side quests. It’s pretty immersive and should keep you hooked for a while if you haven’t tried it already.
If you’re into horror with strong stories, give SOMA a try. It’s from the folks who made Amnesia and really focuses on the narrative alongside horror elements, so it might be right up your alley since you enjoyed Outlast and The Dark Pictures.
If you loved immersive story and world exploration, definitely check out the Dishonored series by Arkane Studios. They blend stealth and story really well. Also, Prey from the same developers is a great sci-fi story, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance offers deep RPG storytelling set in medieval times with lots of side quests to keep things fresh. Death Stranding is another unique experience if you want something really different with a strong narrative.
Some classics you might wanna try are Horizon Zero Dawn and, if you can, Forbidden West (though the DLC is PS5 exclusive). The Last of Us parts 1 and 2, and the Uncharted series also have fantastic narratives and solid gameplay. Since you mentioned you already have Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted 4, maybe give The Last of Us a shot if you haven’t yet—it’s really story-heavy and keeps you hooked till the end.
Yeah, I played most Uncharted games on PC but haven’t touched The Last of Us yet. Might be time to try that out!
