I recently replayed Summon Night: Sword Craft Story on the GBA and was reminded how much I loved how the game really made the female character feel unique. The dialogue changes depending on whether you pick a boy or a girl, with special lines exclusive to the female protagonist—like one of the lead characters being a bisexual girl that flusters your character if she’s also a girl. It felt genuine, like actually playing as a girl rather than just being a generic avatar.
I’m looking for RPGs with somewhat similar vibes—games where choosing a female lead affects dialogue and interactions, ideally with bisexual romance options. I’ve played and enjoyed titles like Persona, Mass Effect, Rune Factory, Cyberpunk, and Fire Emblem, and I’m open to suggestions that offer rich romance and character-driven stories with that authentic touch.

You mentioned Mass Effect already, but playing as FemShep is absolutely worth it—not only do you get a distinct voice actor that really brings the character to life, but the romance options are pretty diverse and compelling from her perspective.
You might also check out Greedfall and Expeditions: Rome. Both have interesting romances with gender-influenced dialogue and allow bi options. If you want text-heavy but story-rich, Vampire: The Masquerade – Parliament of Knives has great bisexual romance possibilities too. Also shoutout to 1000xRESIST for a tragic but emotional bi romance storyline if you’re into that kind of vibe.
1000xRESIST definitely hit me emotionally—made me tear up! I appreciate all these varied options.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses lets you play as a female Byleth and features romance options including some bi characters. The game treats character orientations seriously rather than just making everyone playersexual, which is a nice touch. You might want to try replaying it and explore different houses and routes.
I played Three Houses and enjoyed it, maybe I’ll start another route on a different house as you suggested.
Dragon Age series is perfect for what you want. All the games let you play female protagonists and have a range of romance options that include bisexual and same-sex partners. The dialogue changes a lot depending on your gender and who you romance. Also worth checking out Owlcat Pathfinder games—they have a solid romance system and treat characters’ orientations thoughtfully too.
Dragon Age is a favorite for sure, and Owlcat Pathfinder sounds intriguing, thanks!
If you haven’t tried Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s a solid choice. You can play as female characters with loads of unique dialogue and there are bi and same-sex romance options. It’s a pretty fresh RPG experience and really respects gender and identity in its storytelling.
I have played it and loved it, considering replaying but also looking for something new to try.
Agreed, I definitely enjoyed FemShep more for those reasons!
