Hey everyone! I’m just starting out in World of Tanks after playing games like League and Overwatch. I’ve found various resources for those games, such as Skillcapped for learning mechanics and strategies, and I’m hoping to find something similar for WOT.
I’m particularly interested in understanding:
– The basics of gameplay mechanics
– The roles tanks play
– Basic macro decision-making
– Strategic positions on the map
I’m looking for written guides, video series, VOD reviews, or even peer mentorship. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton!

What server are you on? If you’re in North America, I can platoon with you and offer some pointers while we play. Just let me know!
Here are some awesome resources you should check out:
– [tanks.gg](http://tanks.gg) for stats and tank comparisons.
– [tomato.gg](http://tomato.gg) for player performance metrics.
– [skill4ltu.eu](http://skill4ltu.eu) has comprehensive guides.
– Yaya’s map guide doc is super helpful too: [Google Sheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IPm9J2GeOT2u5QE9evyMOd_LWMAwEM2oXTgsp33ZEZk/edit?gid=976780465#gid=976780465).
– And check out Cope’s equipment guide video: [YouTube Link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcJveDPhjkI).
WG has some great YouTube videos that cover the basics and provide map guides. Also, make sure to use training rooms or the Topography battles mode to explore maps and learn about tank positions. Plus, checking out tank stats on sites like tanks.gg and tomato.gg could really help. Watching some smaller streamers like M0ff or Daki can also be beneficial because they often engage more with viewers. But the best way to learn is just by playing, so dive in and enjoy!
I highly recommend watching Quickybaby on YouTube. He provides fantastic tips and analyzes various gameplay situations. Spend some time watching his videos and streams to get a feel for decision-making and map rotations. Don’t rush through the tiers; take your time to learn the game, especially the lower tiers, and you’ll get the hang of it! Good luck on your journey!
Thanks for all the links! This is super helpful!
