Hey everyone! I’m thinking about grabbing a new controller in the next few months. I’m currently using a PS4 controller, which works great with my Steam Deck. Here are the options I’m considering: 8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth, Gamesir Cyclone 2, 8Bitdo Ultimate 2C, and GuliKit KK3 Pro. I’d love to hear any suggestions or experiences you’ve had with these controllers! My budget is between $30 and $80. Thanks!

If you’re okay with wired, I just connect a long USB-C cable to my dock. Having access to the trackpads is a game changer!
The 8Bitdo controllers are solid, but I just got a new Xbox Series S controller, and it’s really nice to use.
Why not stick with the PS4 controller if it’s already working well for you? That said, I’ve been using the GuliKit KK3 Pro for years, and it’s done great for me on both my Deck and PC with zero lag. Just keep in mind how you’ll be using it—if you’re not rough on controllers, it should last a while!
I recently switched to a PS5 controller and I gotta say, it’s fantastic! Just a heads up if you want to consider it as another option.
You should totally consider the 8Bitdo Lite 2! It’s awesome for travel, especially on flights.
I’m a big fan of GuliKit. Their controllers are solid and work well with the Deck, plus I’ve had them for a while now without any issues.
I haven’t tried the GuliKit KK3 Pro, but I’ve had a great experience with the Max version. I even made a video review showcasing its use with the Steam Deck if you want to take a look! Check it out [here](https://youtu.be/HGfK0ASa42E) at the 8:08 mark for a demo with the Deck.
I went with the 8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth and I’m really enjoying it! I’ve heard the Ultimate 2C is even better if you’re not planning to connect to a Switch, though.
PS4 and PS5 controllers work pretty well with the Deck, though you might encounter some mismatched glyphs. I use the PDP Victrix PS5 controller for its asymmetrical sticks, and the trackpad has made a huge difference for me—especially for emulation. It’s super handy for mapping out various functions. Once you set that up, it’s hard to go back to anything else.
That’s good to hear! Sounds like I might need to check that out.
