I’m 51 years old and have been gaming since the days of the Commodore 64 and Atari 2600. I used to be really into MMORPGs like World of Warcraft, playing for about 20 years before recently stepping away. During all those years, my wife was incredibly patient with my gaming habits. Recently, we both discovered a game called The Room on Steam, and we absolutely loved it together — the interactive puzzles and storyline really grabbed us. I’ve since played through all the games in the series with her and enjoyed every minute. Now, I’m on the lookout for more games in that same genre — immersive puzzle games with engaging stories. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I’m currently into The Blue Prince, which has similar exploration and puzzle vibes. Also, The Monument Valley series offers a really neat “toy box” style puzzle experience, and The Witness is a beautiful open-world puzzle game worth exploring at your own pace.
Sounds like you’re searching for classic escape room games. Steam actually has a dedicated section for escape room titles. Apart from Rusty Lake, Escape Simulator has gotten some good buzz for its fun cooperative puzzle solving.
You might want to give Gorogoa a try. It’s not exactly the same as The Room, but it definitely captures a similar creative puzzle-solving vibe with unique visuals and storytelling.
Thanks! I’ve heard great things about Gorogoa and it’s on my list now for sure.
If you’re into escape room-style puzzles with a bit of a creepy and intriguing story, definitely check out the Rusty Lake series. It has that eerie atmosphere and engaging puzzles that keep you hooked.
You should also look into The House of Da Vinci 1 and 2. They have that tactile puzzle feel and are great for anyone who enjoyed The Room’s style.
Wow, thanks! That Steam section sounds perfect for browsing more games like this. I’ll definitely check out Escape Simulator too.
