I’m a huge fan of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, but me and my friend are on the lookout for something similar that doesn’t involve combat at all. We want a sandbox sim that lets you experience medieval life without the fighting. Ideally, it would be a high-quality walking sim where you basically just live as a serf, engaging in skills like crafting, stealth, and managing resources like food and sleep. We’re looking for quests that feel more like life goals rather than the usual fetch quests. We’re not interested in strategy games, farming sims, or retro 8-bit titles. I know about The Sims: Medieval, but that’s not quite the vibe we’re after. Any suggestions?

You might want to check out Medieval Dynasty. It has some elements of what you’re looking for, but it does involve a bit of survival crafting and management as you build your village. Just a heads up, there’s some combat in there, but it might still scratch that medieval sim itch!
Honestly, it’s tough to find something without any combat at all! A common suggestion is modded Skyrim since you can tailor it to your liking, but I get it if that’s not appealing. What about Manor Lords? It’s more management-focused but might be along the lines you’re seeking.
Have you heard of Saelig? It’s quite different from what you may think, but it might resonate with your desire for medieval life simulation. If you want to dabble in building, Ostriv could be fun too, even though it’s post-medieval. Just keep in mind that most games in this genre seem to have some level of challenge or conflict.
Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll check out Saelig first, and I appreciate the heads-up about Ostriv!
