I enjoyed playing Secret of Evermore on the SNES, which was designed to offer an ‘American’ adventure/RPG vibe. After having that experience and my time with Earthbound, I’m eager to dive into more games like these. I know my question is a bit open-ended, but I thought it was worth a shot. I’ve already completed Earthbound/Mother 2 and found the Forspoken demo underwhelming, though I’m open to changing my mind about it.

You should definitely check out the South Park RPGs – The Stick of Truth and The Fractured but Whole. They really nailed that RPG feel while keeping it uniquely American, even if you’re not a huge South Park fan. Trust me, they’re surprisingly good!
Have you considered playing Mother 3? It’s an absolute gem, and you can find a translation patch if you haven’t already tried it out. It really captures the essence you seem to enjoy! Although it’s never getting an official translation, it’s still a masterpiece in its own right.
Final Fantasy 15 might be right up your alley! It’s a JRPG that draws heavy inspiration from American road trips, giving you that sense of exploration with friends through beautiful landscapes. If you loved the vibe of Secret of Evermore, this could be a winner for you!
