I just finished playing ‘Sid Meier’s Pirates’ and I’m really craving similar experiences but in more recent games. Can anyone recommend something that captures that essence?

Nothing really matches ‘Sid Meier’s Pirates’. I’ve tried a lot of games, and honestly, they all fall short. ‘Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag’ often comes up in discussions, but I haven’t played it myself. People say it’s great for naval warfare, but it lacks other features from ‘Sid Meier’s Pirates’.
If you’re looking for something close, ‘Windward’ might be worth checking out. However, I don’t think anything truly replicates what ‘Sid Meier’s Pirates’ brings, with all its mini-games and exploration. Many games focus on ship combat and trading, but they miss that special synergy.
‘Caribbean Legend’ is on my wishlist as the only modern game that seems somewhat similar, but the reviews aren’t too great, sitting around 75%. I’d say it might be worth it if it’s on sale because the visuals look quite outdated, like something from 2005.
Yeah, ‘Black Flag’ and its spin-off ‘Rogue’ are good for naval combat, but they don’t have the exploration and mini-games you find in ‘Sid Meier’s Pirates’.
