Looking for Laptop Recommendations for a Total Beginner

Hey everyone! I used to have a gaming desktop, but my roommate did all the heavy lifting when it came to tech stuff, so I’m pretty clueless about this. I ended up selling my desktop during COVID, and now I want to buy a gaming laptop but don’t know where to start. I’m mainly looking to play games like The Sims and Dead by Daylight, plus do a little bit of video and audio editing. Given that, I feel like this should be straightforward, but I’m struggling to find something I can feel good about purchasing. Any advice?

Since you’re looking to spend around $1000 (which is great by the way), you should check out models like the ASUS ROG Zephyrus or the Acer Nitro 5. They handle gaming well and are good for some light editing too. Just make sure to get one with a decent GPU like the GTX 1660 or better. You’ll be set for gaming and editing!
