Hey everyone! I’ve recently been diving into JRPGs, but I’ve found myself a bit overwhelmed by some of the franchises that have loads of entries and span different platforms. I’ve really enjoyed series with just a few mainline games, typically around 3 to 5, and I’d love to hear your recommendations for something I can pick up during the upcoming Steam Summer Sale. I’m primarily into turn-based combat (but I’m open to other styles, just not Tactical RPGs). Story-wise, I’m flexible, but I’d appreciate something that feels similar to games I’ve loved, like the Persona series, Neptunia, and Mario RPGs. I’m specifically looking for series where all the mainline games are available on Steam, and it’d be awesome if all entries are readily accessible. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Also, give *Atelier Ryza* series a shot! They’re more on the casual end of JRPGs and have beautiful graphics with engaging characters. Plus, they’re definitely available on Steam!
You should definitely check out the *Legend of Heroes* series, specifically the *Trails* arcs. They have a continuous story but each arc typically involves only 2 games, so you can play one at a time and still feel like you have closure. The combat is similar to Neptunia, and the storytelling is top-notch, plus they’re all on Steam! Just be aware that the series overall is a bit lengthy with around 13 entries, but you can easily enjoy them in smaller chunks.
You might want to try the *Ys* series! It’s got decent combat and interesting stories, and the entire series is available on Steam. The recent ones are fun and should be right up your alley!
Yeah, it’s a great blend of action and story! Plus, the series has been around for a while, so there are some great titles to explore.
While not on the lighter side at all, every mainline *Final Fantasy* game is on Steam. You might feel overwhelmed with the entries, but some of them have stand-alone stories, so you can pick and choose what interests you.
I recommend starting with the *Yakuza* series, especially since the newer ones are turn-based. Just keep in mind that the series has quite a few games, so pick wisely!
*Yakuza 0* is a fantastic entry to begin with, it’s one of the best in their lineup!
That’s true! The arcs have satisfying conclusions, so you can pause your journey after finishing one, though it might leave you curious for more!
