Looking for JRPG Recommendations for a Long Weekend

-

Hey everyone! I’ve got a long weekend coming up and I’m in the mood to kick back and dive into a good JRPG, just like the good old days. I’m a huge fan of the Tales series and the Fire Emblem games, and I often find myself replaying them. I’m eager to try something new that has a similar vibe. I have access to most consoles and my PC, so I’m open to any platform. What do you suggest?

If you’re looking for something binge-worthy, the **Disgaea series** is fantastic! Start with **Disgaea 1 Complete**—it has a great story, fun mechanics, and loads of humor. The post-game content is definitely worth it too!

You should definitely check out **Star Ocean The Second Story R**! It’s developed by some of the same folks behind Tales of Phantasia and that connection definitely shows. The characters can be swapped out for replay value, which adds another layer of fun.

I’d recommend starting with the **Trails series**, specifically **Trails in the Sky: FC**. It’s a longer series with a deep, interconnected story. Plus, there’s a remake on the way if you’re willing to wait a bit before diving in!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep an eye out for the remake.

If you like Tales, you’ll probably enjoy **Scarlet Nexus**! It’s from the same company and has a similar skit system. Plus, the action combat is a blast—you get to use telekinetic powers, which keeps things interesting.

Check out **octopath traveler 2**! It has everything you could want in a JRPG and is perfect for long play sessions.
