I just picked up a new gaming deck and I’m on the hunt for some hidden gem games that really shine on it. I’m a huge fan of Strategy RPGs and JRPGs, so anything in those genres would be great! To give you an idea of my tastes, I’ve really enjoyed games like Tactics Ogre Reborn, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Baldur’s Gate 3, Dark Deity II, and Final Fantasy V. There’s no budget limit here, so feel free to suggest anything. Also, if a game runs especially well or feels better on my deck, that’s a big plus!

Triangle Strategy is a great pick for your deck if you want a fresh turn-based strategy RPG. It’s got challenging tactical battles and a fantastic story with lots of branching choices. I played it on Switch and it was a blast, and I imagine it’d run great on your deck too.
If you want something a bit different but still turn-based, Shogun Showdown is a turn-based roguelike that’s pretty fun. It’s not your typical JRPG or strategy game, but it’s got addictive gameplay and looks cool on portable devices.
Never heard of Shogun Showdown before, but I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
Consider giving Suikoden I & II Remastered a try! The remasters polish up two classic JRPGs with huge casts and epic stories. They hold up well and are a great blast from the past that would feel right at home on your deck.
I never played Suikoden before, so I’m excited to look into these remasters. Thanks for the suggestion!
You should definitely check out the Persona series if you haven’t dived fully into them yet. Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal all hit that Strategy/JRPG sweet spot and look fantastic on your deck’s screen. They mix deep storylines with turn-based combat and some life simulation elements.
I gave Persona 5 a shot and really liked the story and combat, but I found the side activities like studying and chores a bit tedious and distracting. It didn’t quite balance with the main gameplay for me like Three Houses does, where side tasks felt shorter compared to the battles. Do all Persona games have these types of chores mixed with the story and fighting?
I loved Triangle Strategy on my Switch! I’ll definitely consider grabbing it for the deck as well, especially if I find a good deal.
