Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for some lesser-known 2D platformers that are real gems. I primarily enjoy games from the Genesis and SNES eras, but I’m open to any platform. Some of my favorites include Mickey Mania, Maui Mallard, Ristar, Dynamite Headdy, Rocket Knight, Plok, Skyblazer, and Magical Pop’n. I’m familiar with the classics like Donkey Kong, Sonic, Kirby, Rayman, and most Disney games from that time. By the way, I’d love to try Mickey and Donald games on the Master System, but I can’t handle the music, haha. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Astérix on the Master System is another title you might find interesting! And if you like colorful games, Cybernator (Assault Suits Valken) on the SNES is amazing—though it’s a bit different from the cutesy ones. If you’re more into adorable games, Pop’n Twinbee might be perfect for you!
You should definitely check out Psycho Fox on the Master System—it’s a fun hidden gem! Also, Bonk’s Revenge on the Turbografx-16 is worth a play if you haven’t tried it yet.
If you haven’t played The Lost Vikings, I think you’d enjoy it! And for something a bit different, Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team is a classic in our gaming lineup.
The cute and colorful games are definitely my vibe! Funny enough, I’m also a big horror fan, probably thanks to the spooky levels in Mickey Mania that I played a ton as a kid. I’ll check out Cybernator and all the recommendations—thanks, everyone!
