I’m transitioning to Linux for some light Blender work and gaming, considering options like Bazzite or Steam OS. My old workstation runs an i7-5820K on an X99-A motherboard with 32GB of RAM. Previously, I had an RTX 3060 but moved it to a newer rig, so now I’m using a GTX 1070. I’m eyeing an RX 6600 (second hand) but would love some advice on whether that’s a good choice.

For gaming on Linux, AMD GPUs are generally a better fit. They have better support and drivers for the platform, so I’d say go for AMD! You’ll find smoother performance and fewer headaches.
It really depends on what you can spend! If your budget is around 200 euros, the RX 6600 would work fine, but if you can stretch a bit more, I’d recommend considering at least a 7600 XT. Just keep in mind, with your X99 setup, the PCIe 3.0 lanes might bottle-neck a higher-end card, so sticking to the RX 6600 could be a safer bet for now.
Yeah, budget is my main concern right now. I’ve been noticing some bottlenecking with the RTX 3060 on the X99, so I figured going for a mid-range card might be the best move.
