I’m on the hunt for games that let you build and manage an entire country from the ground up. I’m looking for recommendations where I can oversee everything related to the nation. What titles are out there that fit this description?

If you’re interested in a classic, the “Civilization” series is definitely worth a look. I’d suggest starting with Civ 6, as it’s the more popular choice right now, though some folks have mixed feelings about Civ 7. Just keep in mind that every new Civ game tends to improve over time with updates and expansions, so don’t let the launch issues hold you back!
Definitely consider the “Anno” series as well! “Anno 1800” is a blast with its mix of city-building and production chain management. You might also like “Anno 1404” if you enjoy crafting and strategy in a historical setting.
You might want to check out “Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic.” In this game, you get to manage and create a self-sustaining communist state, which is a pretty unique experience compared to other sim games.
Yeah, Civ 7 has its flaws, but it’s part of the pattern with the series. They usually get better as they add more content later on. I think 6 really shines after all those years of development!
