I recently played through Dragon Age 2 and noticed it has a combat system reminiscent of FF12, where you can set up your “tactics” (similar to gambits) to control how your party members act based on certain conditions. Since FF12 is one of my all-time favorite games, I’m really curious if there are other games out there that use a similar gameplay style. Aside from DA2 and FF12, what other titles feature this kind of tactical combat?

You might want to check out Dragon Age: Origins too. It has a similar gambit-like system, but it dives much deeper into RPG mechanics compared to DA2. A lot of players think the tactics available in Origins are way better overall!
If you’re into that kind of combat, give White Knight Chronicles a shot on PS3. It has a similar gameplay style, although the controls aren’t as precise as what you’d find in FF12.
Don’t forget about Unicorn Overlord! It has some interesting mechanics that might resonate with you.
For sure, DAO is far superior from a gameplay standpoint.
