I’m on the hunt for games that are set in pre-modern eastern worlds, specifically similar to East Asia. I’m open to fictional universes or those inspired by real historical places. I already have a few in mind but I’m curious if anyone has better suggestions, especially if the games feature strong narratives and immersive worlds.

Check out Trek to Yomi as well. It’s a solid game, but I suggest playing it on Hard mode to really enjoy the challenge. Lower difficulties don’t give quite the same experience.
Consider giving Jade Empire a try if you haven’t already; it’s a classic! Also, Raji is another great title that has a stunning art style and engaging gameplay. I think you’d enjoy both!
You definitely can’t go wrong with Ghost of Tsushima, Sekiro, and Nioh. They’re all amazing for their stories and settings. Dynasty Warriors: Origins is also a recent addition worth checking out, though it can be a bit different from the story-driven games you’re looking for.
Way of the Samurai is pretty cool too. You can find the third and fourth games on Steam, while the first two can be emulated. And if you’re into the Yakuza series, Like a Dragon: Ishin offers a similar vibe.
