I’m on the hunt for some cool open world games set in futuristic cities—think along the lines of Cyberpunk 2077 or Omikron. I want a game where I can roam around freely and explore, kind of like Jak and Daxter or Gravity Rush 2. Just to clarify, I’m not interested in anything that’s post-apocalyptic like Fallout or games where the ‘open world’ is just a few locations, like Mass Effect. Any suggestions?

You might enjoy Saints Row 4! It’s got a pretty silly take on the open world genre—mixing in superpowers, aliens, and lots of RPG elements. It’s more on the comedic side, though, so don’t expect a serious story.
Have you considered Arkham Knight? The city itself isn’t exactly futuristic, but there are some really high-tech gadgets in play. It gives off a unique vibe, though it’s more of a dark atmosphere than what you’re looking for.
Yeah, I was hoping for a more futuristic city feel, but the noir elements do kind of tie in with something like Blade Runner.
If you’re up for something more laid-back, check out Cloudpunk. It’s not as action-packed but the vibe is awesome. Also, Nivalis from the same developers is on the horizon and looks promising, though it’s still not out.
Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst might be your speed, even though it’s not as polished as the first game. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided also offers some great futuristic settings and is a solid option if you haven’t tried it yet.
What about Watch Dogs? It does have some futuristic tech, but I get that you’re really looking for a city that feels totally advanced.
Not quite what I’m after! I really want that fully futuristic city vibe.
I was more in the mood for something that really feels futuristic, not just has some futuristic elements. Final Fantasy games also come to mind, like FF X-2 had some nice cities, but they weren’t truly interconnected like the worlds in FF7.
