Hey everyone! After years of having the game gathering dust on my hard drive (I got it as a backer reward for Apocalypse 2E on Kickstarter), I finally played ‘Godsend’ with a group. Unfortunately, it fell flat. For those unfamiliar, it’s a diceless game where players are actual gods—sounds awesome, right? But it turns out the gods can’t do much themselves and have to rely on their mortal avatars, which results in a bit of a chaotic gameplay with two character sheets—one that’s pretty much useless. I had hoped to tweak the game to fit what I envisioned but thought someone out there might have figured it all out already. So, I’m reaching out to see if anyone can recommend a more enjoyable diceless god game for my group!

Have you looked into *Amber Diceless* or its sequels like *Lords of Olympus* or *Lords of Gossamer & Shadows*? I played those two extensively and had a blast. Other suggestions include *Nobilis* and *Glitch*, though I haven’t played them myself—the books are really interesting! If you want a lighter system, *Gods & Monsters* could be fun too, but it’s not exactly what I was looking for.
Don’t forget to check out our Game Recommendations page! We have it organized by genre and various categories, which can be super helpful for finding what you’re after!
You might want to check out *Godbound*. I’ve heard great things about it, and while I haven’t played it myself, friends rave about how fun it is! Plus, it offers a fresh approach to god-themed gameplay.
And the best part? It’s free on DriveThru RPG, so give it a shot!
I can confirm, *Godbound* is a blast! I’ve run and played it, and it offers a unique spin on traditional RPGs. Definitely worth trying out!
