Hey everyone! I’m diving into Diablo 4 for the first time after playing a ton of Diablo 3, where I primarily enjoyed the exploding palm monk and bonestorm necromancer. Right now, I’ve been exploring different classes but haven’t found one that really resonates with me yet; I’ve only managed to level each one to about 10. I’m curious if anyone has suggestions for classes or builds that might suit my playstyle. I love taking input from others and adding my own twist, which makes the game feel more personal and enjoyable for me!

I’d say don’t get too caught up in what others are saying on the forums. Just focus on enjoying the first playthrough. The leveling experience is pretty solid at the moment, and you can always explore build guides later if you want. Try to find a class that you enjoy the gameplay of rather than stressing over optimal builds right out of the gate!
What specifically hasn’t clicked for you with each class? If you can pinpoint what you don’t like, it’ll help find a better fit. For example, have you tried focusing on Barbarian’s weapon skills or maybe giving the Rogue a chance in a different playstyle?
The Barbarian feels overwhelming with all its weapon options, and I’ve never been a fan of Sorc in D3, so it’s a no-go for me. The Rogue seems appealing but feels really squishy, and the Warden just seems off to me. It has nice shapeshifting, but it feels clunky. I’m way too used to the D3 Necro, so that’s messing with my head, and I haven’t figured out Spirit Born yet.
I’ve had a blast with a few builds over time! Some I’ve enjoyed are the HotA Barb and Lightning Spear Sorc. I recommend sticking to basic builder/spender setups initially; it’s more manageable while you get the hang of things. Just pick a build that stands out to you at first and then consider tweaking it yourself later on!
Yeah, everyone has their own fun way to play! I like to take suggestions and twist them to suit my style, too. In Diablo 3, I turned a Hammer of the Ancients build into a jumping build that I just loved using one season. Sometimes it’s all about that personal touch!
