Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for a gaming laptop that’s budget-friendly, ideally under $1000. I’m mainly looking to play Minecraft with shaders and classic World of Warcraft using Unreal Engine 5. Has anyone had success with a gaming laptop in this price range, or should I lower my expectations? Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!

While I don’t have the exact specs, if you want something future-proof and versatile, look into Framework’s laptops. They’re really good for everyday tasks and you can customize them with decent GPUs—plus, they’re super repairable!
$1k is a solid budget! You can easily find a Lenovo Legion 5 with a 3060 GPU or something better in that range. Should run your games nicely!
Just got an Asus TUF laptop from Walmart for $999, and it’s rocking a 4060 and 16GB of RAM. It handles everything I’ve thrown at it, so you should be all set with that budget!
If you’re looking around the $1k mark in USD, you should be in good shape! I’ve managed to run shaders on my Legion Go, which is just integrated graphics. Even a Steam Deck could handle Minecraft. I’d suggest checking out performance mods like Sodium for better optimization in Java, too!
Thanks for the tip! I didn’t think Minecraft would be an issue, but I’m just a bit worried about performance with WoW when they switch to Unreal 5.
