Looking for an Economic Simulation Game

-

I’m really interested in finding (or maybe even creating) a game where you can input a specific moment in US history regarding the economy and play around with different scenarios. For instance, what if a certain president had made a different decision than what actually happened? Are there any existing games out there that let you explore this kind of alternate history scenario, or does anyone have ideas on how to start developing something like it?

If you’re looking for something a bit different, the “Tropico” series might be a fun option. While it focuses on running a tropical island, it deals with economic and political decisions that can reflect changes based on leadership choices. It’s more light-hearted but still lets you experiment with management!

“Victoria” games are indeed a solid choice! They provide depth in economic simulation and allow for a lot of strategy and historical context. Although democracy-based games might also fit your needs, they don’t offer the flexibility of choosing specific years or events to influence directly.

You might want to check out “Victoria 3”. It allows you to simulate economic factors and manage resources really well. For example, if you’re creating a munitions factory, you’ll need to ensure your state has access to the right materials like iron and lead. It gives you a good feel of how economic decisions impact your country over time.
