I’ve been playing the original Crysis and realized that I haven’t experienced a game quite like it since. I loved how buildings could be destroyed, trees would fall, and you could be hiding in a hut until a helicopter dropped a missile, causing everything to collapse around you. I heard the remaster actually downgraded the physics and AI, which is disappointing. Why are we going backwards in gaming? Maybe I’m just not choosing the right titles. I’m specifically looking for single-player games with these features.

If you’re looking for the best in destruction, The Finals has some incredible physics, but fair warning, it’s multiplayer. Still, it’s free, so you might want to give it a shot!
You should definitely check out Red Faction: Guerrilla! It’s got some amazing destructible environments and really lets you wreck the world around you. It might look a bit dated, but the gameplay is still a blast!
Thanks! I was worried it might not hold up graphically.
Doom Eternal is a great choice if you want that destructible vibe. You can break almost anything you can interact with, plus it’s fast-paced and super fun. It seems like they’re starting to put more emphasis on physics in newer games!
Awesome, thanks! It’s great to see a focus on physics coming back to games.
Cool, it looks pretty good! I’ll check it out since it’s free!
