Looking for a Story-Light, Grind-Heavy MMO to Dive Into

-

I’m on the hunt for a game like Old School RuneScape, where the story isn’t front and center, and I can really immerse myself in grinding for hours. I’d love something that lets me zone out with a podcast or YouTube in the background. Any recommendations for this kind of grind-heavy MMO?

Have you considered Guild Wars 2? It fits what you’re looking for pretty well. You can skip most of the story bits and just explore to your heart’s content. There are both paid expansions and a free-to-play option, giving you lots of choices.

You could try out Flyff or Flyff Universe. It’s an older game, rather simple in its storytelling, but if you’re up for a serious grind, it’s worth checking out. The game doesn’t force you into any storylines, so you can just do your thing.

Warframe might be right up your alley! Although it has a storyline, you can definitely focus on the endless grind. Between missions that progress the story, you can spend countless hours just taking on missions to collect resources and level up. It’s got a solo-friendly setup too!

I tried Warframe, and it’s fantastic for zoning out. The lore can be a mystery, but the grinding is where it’s at!

Black Desert Online is pretty much built for what you’re describing. It’s densely packed with grindy activities, and the story isn’t really front and center unless you go looking for it.

Exactly, just press that R key to power through dialogs and get to the action!
