Hey folks, my parents recently sold my gaming laptop and said they’d get me a non-gaming one instead. I desperately need a laptop that can handle decent gaming but without any mention of gaming in the name or description when I buy it online. I’m looking for something that won’t attract their attention. Does anyone have suggestions for laptops that fit this bill?

Lenovo’s LOQ and Legion series might work too. They look pretty standard for office use, so if your parents don’t know much about GPUs, you could probably get one without them realizing it’s a gaming laptop. I snagged mine for under $1k, and the specs are solid without the flashy gamer branding!
You might want to check out the ThinkPad A3000 or A4000. They’re high-quality laptops but marketed as workstations. Performance-wise, they’re on par with the 3060 or 4060, but because they don’t scream ‘gaming laptop,’ your parents might not catch on. Just keep in mind they might not be optimized for gaming as effectively as a dedicated gamer laptop.
Oh, that sounds good! I’ll definitely look into those.
But won’t their cooling be more for stability than for running games smoothly at high FPS?
Sorry to hear about your laptop situation. The Dell XPS line is a great option since it has zero references to gaming. Just make sure to look for one with the specs you need. It’s all about the right hardware and keeping it low-key, right?
I checked their site; some models aren’t labeled as gaming, and the specs are actually decent!
