I’m super inspired to run a DnD campaign that captures the vibe of Elden Ring. Can anyone suggest a good system to create a Souls-like tabletop role-playing game? If there’s nothing out there, I’m thinking of tweaking the DnD 5e rules since that’s what I’m most familiar with.

The definition of “Souls-like” can vary a lot—are you thinking of the atmosphere, fight mechanics, or something else? If it’s the overall feel, you should look into Runecairn. It offers a unique spin and really captures that vibe.
If you’re looking for something very Souls-inspired, I recommend my RPG, the Fated Lands. It’s heavily influenced by Dark Souls and Berserk in its style and mechanics, and I’ve even included a humanity mechanic and an accursed brand! Right now, I’m running an open playtest, so check it out if you’re interested.
You might want to check out Knave 2e. It’s a classless system that focuses on the six ability scores and your gear. Want to play a knight? Just grab some heavy armor and a sword! Want to be a wizard? Get yourself some spell books. It’s lightweight and perfect for sandbox-style play, plus it has loads of random tables for NPCs and locations.
