I’ve been getting back into PUBG lately and really love its combat loop — scavenging for weapons and gear, managing my inventory, moving around the map strategically, and experiencing realistic gunplay. I’d like to find a similar game but focused on PvE instead of PvP. Ideally, something where I can fight AI enemies or monsters while looting, surviving, and upgrading my equipment. I don’t have much background in this genre, and the only related games I know are survival zombie games, which I’m not into. Does anyone know of games that capture that PUBG feel but with PvE action?

You should look into Gray Zone Warfare and Incursion Red River. Gray Zone Warfare is an online multiplayer with a good PvE mode, and Incursion Red River offers single-player extraction-style missions. Both have military shooter vibes and focus on tactical looting and combat, which sounds right up your alley.
Escape from Tarkov now has a PvE mode, which is great if you’re looking for realistic gun mechanics and looting without the pressure of constant wipes or PvP encounters. It’s pretty demanding on your PC but the way it handles gear progression and combat feels awesome, especially when you’re just focusing on surviving AI raids.
Totally agree, I jumped back into Tarkov because of PvE and now my entire squad is hooked on it. Such a great experience!
You might want to check out “Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl” or its sequels. They have that gritty, realistic gunplay and loot-focused gameplay with AI enemies instead of players. The atmosphere is immersive and the combat is challenging. It’s definitely got a similar vibe to PUBG but with PvE survival elements lurking around radioactive zones.
That sounds perfect, I’ll definitely give Stalker a try. Thanks for the suggestion!
Gray Zone Warfare caught my eye for sure, looks like it nails the PUBG feel better than I expected. Glad I asked around!
