Looking for a Horror Game Set in the Early 1900s

-

Hey everyone! I just got out of the cinema after seeing SINNERS (which was fantastic by the way), and now I’m in the mood for a spooky game. I’m looking for something that has a horror vibe, ideally set in the early 1900s, whether it’s in America or elsewhere. I’m after a similar aesthetic to Hunt: Showdown 1896, so if you have any recommendations, I’d really appreciate it!

Darkwood is an interesting choice too! It doesn’t quite match your era, but it’s definitely a creepy game worth looking into.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare is a fun choice if you’re into the Wild West with a horror twist. It’s not early 1900s but definitely worth checking out!

If you’re open to older games, Clive Barker’s Undying is a fantastic horror FPS set in the 1920s, and it’s really well-crafted!

If you’re up for something not strictly horror but still dark and atmospheric, I’d suggest trying Remnant 2. It’s got that old-fashioned vibe but also mixes it up with RPG elements. Alan Wake 2 is also a solid pick, it brings that eerie, older feel too!

Damn, Remnant 2 is an awesome suggestion, good call! And Alan Wake? Yes, exactly the vibe you’re looking for! What about Bloodborne if you want to go deeper into the horror?

I haven’t seen SINNERS, so I can’t guarantee a perfect match, but here are a few that might suit your taste:
– The Order 1886 is a good third-person shooter with a nice visual style that fits what you’re after, though it leans a bit heavy on the steampunk side.
– Vampyr offers a great story and an interesting universe with choices that affect the outcome.
You might also want to explore some Lovecraftian games like Call of Cthulhu or The Sinking City! They lean more towards horror, but they’re definitely atmospheric.
