Hey, fellow gamers! I’ve been putting a ton of hours into Final Fantasy 14, and even though I love exploring its lore and roleplaying, I really struggle with the combat. I often get overwhelmed by all the buttons and mechanics, which is partly why I shy away from raiding. My friends have a blast raiding, but I feel like I’d just hold them back since I’m not good at the combat part. I want to branch out from FF14 and find a shooter where I can feel competent again and enjoy group activities. I’m thinking about something raid-like but in a first-person shooter context. What do you recommend?

Don’t forget about the classic fallout 76! It’s had its ups and downs, but the group content can be pretty fun and casual, and you’ll get some PvE boss fights.
If you’re open to other modes, I’d suggest Division 2. It has team-based gameplay and isn’t as punishing skill-wise. Plus, the gear progression keeps it interesting!
Borderlands is also worth checking out! It has some chaotic late-game challenges that feel similar to raids, with a lot of fun gunplay. Plus, the hilarious story and characters definitely keep things entertaining!
Destiny 2 is definitely a solid choice for what you’re looking for. It’s got some epic raid content, and the mechanics are really engaging without being too complex. Plus, if you enjoyed Halo, you’ll find some familiarity in Destiny since it’s made by Bungie too!
I totally agree! There’s a great community around Destiny 2, so you might make new friends as you get into the game.
You might also enjoy Darktide or Deep Rock Galactic! They both have a raid feel to them and encourage teamwork without being too overwhelming. It’s a great way to engage with friends and fight some cool bosses!
For sure! Borderlands can be a blast, especially when playing with friends. And yeah, Destiny 2 will feel a bit different but it’s got a fantastic shooting experience.
