Looking for a Fantasy Game Featuring Modern Firearms

-

Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for a game that mixes traditional fantasy elements—like battling knights and dragons—with modern firearms. Think of a mashup of RDR2 and the Fallout series with the immersive worlds of Skyrim or Dragon Age. I’m specifically looking for something that has real-time combat in either first or third person, as I’m not into turn-based or isometric games (although I’ve enjoyed the Final Fantasy series and BG3). Mods for existing games that can bring this concept to life would also be great. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Remnant: From the Ashes and its sequel are solid picks, but they lean towards post-apocalyptic rather than classic fantasy. However, if you’re okay with the setting, they still provide that gunplay and some fantasy elements.

True, they’re amazing games! But, I guess for a more medieval vibe, they might not hit the mark for what OP is looking for.

Avowed just launched and it features a range of weapons including pistols and bows along with magic! Plus, it’s available on Game Pass, so you can give it a try without a big commitment!

Have you thought about the Shadowrun series? It blends a cyberpunk setting with fantasy elements, but it uses turn-based combat. You get guns alongside magic, though, so it has a unique vibe. The latest titles are Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun Hong Kong, but they are more RPG-lite.

Thanks for mentioning Shadowrun! I love the idea of a mix between magic and tech, even if it’s a different gameplay style!

You should definitely check out Witchfire! It’s got that blend of fantasy and modern shooting that fits what you’re describing. Also keep an eye out for Doom: The Dark Ages—sounds promising!

Look out for the upcoming game called Kingmakers! It may not have dragons, but it lets you utilize modern weapons like tanks in medieval battles. Sounds pretty wild!

Don’t overlook Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands! It’s got a light-hearted fantasy vibe alongside plenty of modern weaponry that might fit your request.
