I’m on the hunt for a casual game I can play in the evenings, ideally between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours per session. I’ve previously enjoyed action RPGs like Diablo and Path of Exile, but I find myself getting too immersed and losing track of time. I tried Elden Ring and liked it, but I really don’t want the stress of struggling against a boss after a long day. I also want to avoid getting lost in the open world without guidance. I was excited about Baldur’s Gate 3 because I loved the second game growing up, but I couldn’t really vibe with the story. Basically, I’m looking for something simpler that allows me to make steady progress without the risk of addiction. I have a PC and a Switch. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I recently played ‘The Roottrees are Dead.’ It’s perfect for an hour or two gaming session, where you explore the internet to complete a family tree. Quite fun and not overly demanding!
Have you checked out Middle Earth: Shadow of War? It’s a great fit since it saves your progress frequently and has a nice pacing. If you’re into that universe, I think you’ll really enjoy it!
What about Citizen Sleeper? It’s a neat game that works well for shorter sessions and doesn’t require heavy commitment, so it might be exactly what you’re looking for!
Door Kickers 2 just launched, and it’s super engaging! The missions are short but really fun and challenging, which makes it easy to fit in a quick session when you’re short on time.
You might enjoy MagiCat or Miracle Fly on Switch. They’re 2D platformers with a lot of content and fun levels. Plus, they save automatically after each level, so you can hop in and out easily!
I’d recommend trying out Vampire Survivors. It lets you chill while playing, and there’s loads of content and secrets to uncover. Once you get the hang of it, it’s kind of addictive in a laid-back way!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely check out Citizen Sleeper.
