Hi everyone, I’ve been having a blast with Civ 6, especially enjoying the diplomacy and trade systems with AI, even though they’re somewhat basic. The 3D map evolution through the game is also a favorite of mine. I’m on the hunt for other 4X games that offer deeper political options or interesting AI interactions. While I appreciate the series, I’m not quite ready for multiplayer, so a strong AI-focused solo experience is preferred.

Endless Space series is another fantastic option. You have multiple ways to engage with other factions, such as trading or even assimilation, which can really change up the gameplay dynamics.
Have you heard of Dune: Spice Wars? While it’s not exactly a traditional 4X game, it offers several layers of interaction that could be up your alley.
Just gave Old World a try, and it feels like a blend of Civ 5 and Crusader Kings to me. Might be worth a look if you enjoy either of those games.
Stellaris is definitely a good call for what you’re looking for. It’s got a lot of depth in terms of diplomacy and AI interaction. You might also find Crusader Kings interesting if you don’t mind a shift to a medieval setting.
I keep hearing about Stellaris too, even though I’ve clocked countless hours in Rimworld. It’s always funny how both seem ‘alright’ in reviews despite the high playtime.
Check out Endless Legend. It’s another engaging 4X title with a strong emphasis on strategy and unique factions.
You might find ‘The Last Federation’ intriguing. Even though it lacks traditional 4X elements, it’s heavily driven by diplomacy and influence to achieve goals. But if you’re set on 4X mechanics, Stellaris is a reliable choice.
I haven’t tried that one yet, sounds like it’s worth exploring!
