Hey everyone! I’m currently a level 28 Templar focusing on Magicka skills that I picked based on some recommendations. Right now, I’m just doing various quests and jumping into some dungeons. My question is, is it okay to just mess around and enjoy the game until I hit the max level? Should I be focusing on something specific during my leveling phase to avoid falling behind later on? I’d love to hear your tips!

Honestly, just enjoy the game! I’ve got multiple characters at CP 1200 and never really optimized their builds until recently. Leveling from 50 to CP 160 is when I’d advise looking into builds. Unless you’re into PvP, builds aren’t a huge deal right now. Welcome to ESO!
Take it easy and level at your own pace! Just focus on getting to level 50 and then on to CP 160. At that point, you can start looking into specific builds and skill setups. Better guides will likely be available by then, so don’t stress it!
Thanks! Is a Templar good for both DPS and healing at endgame, or are they mainly supposed to heal?
I went through a similar phase recently, and it’s completely fine! Just remember that many builds require skills you might not have unlocked yet, so focus on maxing out your Magicka for now. As you progress, continue to have fun and play what you enjoy. Later stages involve tweaking builds if you’re diving into Veteran dungeons or raids, but it’s all good as long as you’re enjoying the journey!
Here are some solid tips for leveling up: 1) Make sure to do your daily normal dungeons for great XP and Transmute Crystals. You also get skill points for those. 2) Engage in crafting dailies to improve your craft skills while earning XP and items. 3) While exploring, grab all the Skyshards in the areas you quest in, and finish the zone quests and public dungeons for extra skill points. 4) Don’t forget to train your mount daily at stables. And just have fun! You don’t need to worry about gear until you reach CP 160.
Awesome, will do! Thanks for the advice!
Thanks! Now I can relax and enjoy myself without stressing over mistakes that might ruin my character.
