I’m having a problem with Gnome on Fedora 41 where games are misreading my monitor’s resolution when interface scaling is enabled. I have a 2560×1600 display set to 150% scaling, but games are recognizing the resolution as larger than it actually is. It’s a known issue that’s been discussed, but I couldn’t find any solid solutions. Running games at native resolution makes them look blurry due to some scaling tricks that mess with the image quality. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

Currently, the main workaround is to use gamescope, but there really isn’t a definitive solution yet. You could try setting the scaling back to 100% or forcing Wayland for all the applications. The fractional scaling in Gnome is still in the experimental stage, which is why you’re encountering these problems. They’re reportedly working on improvements for Gnome 48 and in future updates.
Thanks for the info! Do you know what’s causing these scaling issues?
