I’ve encountered some serious problems with my Steam Deck after updating to version 3.7.8. Everything was running smoothly before this update, but now it’s a mess. My WiFi just won’t connect, regardless of whether I try the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands. I even attempted to connect to a completely different router, but it doesn’t work at all. If I try to connect to any WiFi, it gets stuck on the connecting screen and crashes, showing a “verifying installation” screen with a progress bar. When I connect to my iPhone’s hotspot instead, my buttons like power and Steam become unresponsive, and I can only reboot using the touchscreen. Once I power it back on, there’s no screen display at all. The only way to recover it is by holding the power button to restart. I’ve also tried switching to desktop mode, but nothing seems to fix it. What’s going on? Can anyone help me?

I’m dealing with the same issues! My dock has stopped displaying anything on the TV too. It seems like this update has caused a lot of headaches for many of us.
Try rolling back to the previous update. It seems like that might be the best fix until a new one is issued. Let me know if you need guidance on how to do that!
I’ll give that a shot tonight!
I had the same problem with the WiFi, but I managed to fix it by changing my WiFi encryption settings from WPA2 to WPA2/WPA3. That did the trick for me!
That’s a good idea! I’ll try that.
You’re not alone! A bunch of us are facing similar issues. I had my update install without a hitch, but after switching to desktop mode, my Deck couldn’t connect to WiFi anymore. A restart didn’t help. Hang in there!
It’s such a shame that they rolled out a buggy update like this.

Hey, can you point me to a tutorial for rolling back? Just got my Deck and I’m hitting the same issues.
